any operating system as long as it is available
at no cost. The program which receives the highest
number of votes will be named Best Program of
the Year.
SHAREWARE SITE SEARCH TOOL
*****************************
A new search tool developed by Shareware Promotions
allows developers to quickly determine on what
sites their software is listed. Search Sites searches
software sites for any given program's name, and
allows you to quickly and easily see where your
program is listed, and where you need to submit
or update. Best of all its FREE! Further details
are available at http://www.sharewarepromotions.com/search-sites.html.
DONATIONS
*****************************
If you are currently donating more than 25% of
your profits to charities, submit your information
to the virtual Lemonade Stand. This is a great
way for added exposure, and helping out others
in need. Additional information can be found at
http://www.lemonadestand.info
VERTICAL MARKETING
*****************************
With the Microsoft owned vertical.net communities
shifting to a paid model, Global Software Solutions
has seen a surge in traffic. If you target specific
industries, be sure to check it out http://www.globalsoftwaresolutions.net.
Consider providing a discount to organizational
members within a specific industry, or consider
targeting specific webpages with vertical marketing.
GIFT IDEAS & HOLIDAY SPECIALS
*****************************
Consider offering a discount, bundle or providing
gift wrap for the holiday season. Consider working
with other developers to develop a "gift ideas"
section that can be promoted by all the developers
involved. Last but not least be sure to check
out the gift ideas on npsoft.org http://www.npsoft.org/giftideas.html
. There has never been a better time to shop
online.
MESSAGING SOFTWARE
*****************************
If you develop or promote messaging software be
sure to submit your application and press releases
to http://www.messaging-software.com
. This new site posts *all* types of messaging
titles. Traffic from this site is very targeted!

*****************************
GOTO has become Overture.com, this is a great
way to drive targeted traffic if you are considering
Internet advertising. Overture is the perfect
place to start. Terms can be as targeted or open
ended as you choose, you *only* pay for clicks
(or traffic). There is also a suggestion tool
at http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
that will assist you in finding popular search
terms.
We need your help in letting the software community
know about the Software Marketing Resource, please
help spread the word!
As always if you have any suggestions or concerns
